KVC Health Systems’ 2018 Gala at the Station Charity Fundraiser Benefits Children and Families

KVC Charity Gala at the Station 2018

The annual charity gala, “The Gala at the Station,” hosted by KVC Health Systems will be held on Friday, November 2 at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, benefitting the over 63,000 children, teens, and families who have experienced abuse, neglect or other family challenges. This year’s gala is chaired by Red Door Grill, an upscale neighborhood restaurant with 3 locations in the Kansas City area. Lead sponsors for the event are Red Door Woodfired Grill, Bank of Blue Valley, Garmin, Holmes Murphy Hays Companies, and Netsmart. View the full list of sponsors at www.kvc.org/gala.

Presented as an upscale party, the Gala features gourmet food and drinks, live performance art by Quixotic, music from the band Lost Wax, and a unique auction to raise funds to enhance the lives of children and families served by KVC.

KVC Health Systems is a national leader in behavioral healthcare, child welfare and community health and wellness. The nonprofit organization strengthens families, prevents child abuse and neglect, and provides foster family care and adoption for children in need in 30 Kansas counties on behalf of the Kansas Department for Children and Families. KVC also helps children and adults at its psychiatric hospitals including KVC Prairie Ridge Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas and provides youth behavioral health programs at Niles in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri.

While state reimbursements cover basic needs, private funds are needed to fill critical gaps and enhance the lives of children and families. The KVC Gala is 100% underwritten by corporate sponsors and other private donations. Past proceeds have helped hundreds of KVC licensed foster families to attend KVC’s annual Resource Family Conference free of charge so they can receive the required training to better care for youth in foster care. The gala has also benefited children receiving psychiatric treatment in our children’s hospitals, provided up to 12 months of intensive in-home support for children safely reunified with birth families or adopted, and trained staff and caregivers to provide trauma-informed care.

This year’s gala is the second time the event has taken place at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri. The beautiful, historic venue offers the over 600 attendees expected a larger place to discover food stations, purchase surprise boxes, bid on auction items, witness acrobatic performances, locate the dance floor and more.

Gala attendees will be able to use their smartphones for mobile bidding, making it easy to buy surprise boxes and bid on auction items like sporting game tickets, vacation getaways, designer jewelry, private dinners, artistic masterpieces and more.

Tickets are $150 per person. There are a limited number of discounted tickets available for guests under age 30. Sponsorships are still available that will offer a dedicated reserved table in a prime location as well as a concierge for the evening. Union Station is located at 30 West Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri. The Young Friends of KVC invite guests to join them at the after-party at The Kill Devil Club in the Kansas City Power and Light District.
