John Stigall, CPA

In his role, John oversees accounts payable, payroll, benefits, and treasury to support KVC’s mission of enhancing the lives of children and their families. John has a decade of healthcare experience which includes work with public, private (nonprofit), and professional service organizations, he brings with him a broad skill set rooted in financial analysis, accounting, strategic planning, and leadership.
Prior to joining KVC, John served as Controller at HCA MidAmerica’s Overland Park Regional Medical Center (OPR), where he prepared, managed, and reported on the annual budget consisting of >$500M net revenue and >$300M of operating expenses. He also held the position of Director of Financial Operations for HealthTrust’s Division where he oversaw HCA MidAmerica Division’s medical device, commodity, and pharmaceutical expenses).
John began his career at the Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young as an Assurance Associate where he advised various clients including one large Kansas City Health Care provider. It was then that John realized his passion for healthcare. After passing his CPA exam, he joined Saint Luke’s Health System’s finance team and worked to become one of the system’s key senior financial consultants. John coordinated with system leadership to roll out various utilization variations, quality variation initiatives, detailed ROIs and proformas displaying the projected financial implications associated with service line expansion and capital purchases.
John earned his Master’s of Accountancy from University of Missouri-Columbia.
